Weather permitting the children will go outside every day. Please make sure your child has appropriate clothing for the various seasons. Exceptions for outdoor time are extreme heat or cold or rain.
How do I know if my child is too sick to attend Learning Ladder?
Children need to be in good health to get the most out of their school day. Our policy is that if a child is well enough to attend, he/she must be well enough to participate in all daily activities, including outdoor play. Children should also stay home if they have a temperature of over 100, have vomited or had diarrhea in the past 24 hours or have a contagious illness. Exclusion periods for communicable diseases vary and a list can be found at www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/communicable/factsheets/index

Yes, please notify Learning Ladder as soon as your child is diagnosed with a communicable illness. We will let you know what the exclusion period is and post the illness on the parent board so other families are aware. No personal information will be posted, only the illness, date and number of children who have it.
How will parents be notified of a communicable disease?
As soon as we are notified, we will post a note on the parent board located across from the office in the main hallway. The note will include the name of the disease, date we were notified and the number of children who have been diagnosed by a doctor. For less common diseases, we will often post a fact sheet describing its symptoms, how it’s spread and other information.

For snow related severe weather, Learning Ladder will follow the lead of the Monona Grove School District and we will close when MG schools close.
For extreme cold/wind chill weather, Learning Ladder will make a decision on a case by case basis and will make every attempt to remain open.

The content for the young children is limited to programs that are curriculum related; music, dancing, exercise, sign language, or any other movie that considered “good for children.” (Ex.
